(6) Belmont at (3) Stevens

 Jennifer Chick-Ruth & I will be at Stevens Saturday night to being you all the coverage of this one.

This will be a fun one in a great old school gym Saturday night.

 The key for Belmont is patience and keeping their heads about them in the toughest atmosphere they’ve faced as a group. They want to make Stevens play defense for long possessions and try to work the offense inside/out by finding Trevor Hunt in the paint. If a Hunt double team is setting up shooters like Matt Pluskis, Johnny LeClair or Doug Price for open looks the offense is working. If Belmont is taking three’s on the second pass they’re going to struggle to stay in this one.

 Noah Spaulding does a good job of forcing the opposing defense to adjust to him. Parker Smith is a big game player, as he proved in the fall, and you know you’re getting toughness out of Henri Bourque and the O’Brien brothers Nick & Zach.

 Stevens can expect to see Belmont in their zone defense and so they want to push the ball at any opportunity to get easier baskets in transition.

 This could end up being the game of the night.
